So out of all doctors I think Pediatricians have to make the top dollar. Just think about how many times clueless parents are willing to take their kid to the doctor. Just in the last 2 years I’ve taken D in for two teeth (which I thought were ear infections) and 3 viruses that they couldn’t do anything about. Just this week he has been there twice. But what really irritates me is that doctor B didn’t understand why doctor A (his partner) put him on antibiotics with no evidence of an infection. I’m not going to hate on doctor A because I know I was looking for antibiotics, doesn’t everyone feel better when get a prescription to them? But I just hate that I had to pay another copay just for the doctor to tell me that since they weren’t working that it must be viral.

Luckily we have dealt with very few illnesses so I’m very green when it comes to sickness and meds. I just wish there was some kind of handbook to help a ~~brotha~~ sista out. I did call the nurse yesterday just to see if it was normal for D to still be having fevers after 48 hours on meds and 5 days on eye drops and they were the ones who were all “you need to come back in” way to freak a mom out. We are at the mercy of these doctors which really sucks and makes it that much more important to find a doctor and practice that you trust.

With that said, D has not had a fever since yesterday, but it looks like I used his face as a punching bag, his poor eyes are so swollen and red. Hopefully this weekend he will be on the mend. He is pretty pitiful to look at.

Six Months (24 Weeks)

6 months down, 4 more to go. Yup, in case you didn’t know it pregnancy is really 10 months long. All that 9 months crap can go take a hike. Actually I really have 3 and half months left, but all the same it’s going to fly the eff by. This past month has been a quick and rough one. Me and D traveled to Michigan while putting my mom in the hospital and that was a lot. The rest of the month is a blur. There was a great friends wedding and almost completing D’s big boy room (thank you sick days). I’m not ready for him to go in there yet, but having a whole room in disarray is not my cup of tea so I’m glad to have that in place.

Pregnancy wise I still feel great. Getting a bit of tailbone pain, which has me worried after I dealt with it for over a month while carrying D. Fingers crossed that crappiness stays away this time. My 24 week appointment was uneventful expect for the wonderful monthly heartbeat. I have the dreaded glucose test next month then bimonthly appointments. I was expecting to make a big jump in weight this month, but I’m still sitting at 5lbs gained so far. That’s a nice feeling, but I know there are most likely 20 more to come in the next 3 months. I’ll just keep on eating my daily ice cream.

wow, how dare a woman not meet ridiculous beauty standards while she’s growing a fucking human. How dare she be in a photo that is not her best angle. How dare she be confident enough on her own accord to wear a bikini late in her pregnancy. Personally, i think she looks great.

i’d have sold my soul to look that good in a bikini while heavily pregnant. fuck you, haters.
oh, and it’s pretty common knowledge/gossip that beyonce had a surrogate. aint hard to look ‘good’ when you’re just wearing around a faux-belly.

She looks ten times better in a bikini then her ridiculously unflattering clothes.

P was talking today about feeling like an adult. I have to say most days I still feel like I’m in my early 20s just floundering through life, even with a child, isn’t that scary. But today J got a real life job offer that is a big deal and I think we are both pretty dumb founded as to what he should do. He wasn’t looking for this job, they came to him, but it’s scary all the same.

Do we take a leap of faith or does he stay loyal and comfortable where he is?

Can’t our parents make this decision for us?

Since D contracted pink eye yesterday I get an extra day at home with him. I’m not even going to stress about missing more time at work. I’m going to take this as his mothers day gift to me. Since our trip to Michigan I have not had a chance to get caught up at home and since this weekend was super crazy too I totally need today.

So on my agenda today;

- laundry / putting lots of clothes away
- dishes
- cleaning
- painting trim and edging D’s big boy room
- grocery store
- goodwill

I’m hoping at least half this list will get done today. D’s room is a priority since all the shit in that room is every where and my OCD ass can’t handle it. Also my goal is to have him in there by the beginning of June. As exciting as that may seem I’m also scared it will be the end of all our good sleeping. Prayers that it’s not.
