On reading to children…
So I’ve always felt pretty stupid reading out load to children. I’ve done it with kids I’ve babysat for and for my neices and nephew. And every time I’ve felt retarded. I just dont like to hear myself talk or read I guess. Well I’ll tell you what, tonight has changed it all for me. I’ve read off and on to D since birth pretty much cause that’s what people said you are supposed to do. I still felt stupid doing it since he had no clue what was going on, but he is now at the age of total enjoyment from the stupidness that comes out of my mouth. I don’t even think he cared about the books, he just loved the rhyming and song that I made out of it all. He laughed his pretty little head off.
And tonight I felt like a parent, and a good one at that.
