Pumpin Pals
Ok, most of you will be bored with this post, but since my life revolves around pumping and feeding at this point, these flanges are the greatest things since sliced bread. So quick description for those of you who have not pumped and plan on breastfeeding when you do have babies.  Breast pumps are real simple things that cost a shit load.  It is basically a motor [in a snazzy lookin bag so you...

First Week Back at Work
So the first week is over with.  It was not as bad as I thought it would be [which is what I have heard from most new moms].  I do believe as he gets older and more animated that it will become harder to be away.  If only I was a school teacher and could have the summers off, or even a nurse with a 3 day on and 4 day off schedule.  Don’t think I haven’t looked into both of these...

Breast Pumping at Work
So I have been pumping since I came back to work on Monday and let me tell you, I’m so glad I don’t have shit to do here, cause I would have a hard time getting it done.  I get to work at 8:30-8:45, check emails, make to do lists, eat a banana, talk to coworkers, then at 10-10:30 it’s time to pump, which takes anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes, sometimes just 30 minutes.  Then...

Job Shmob
So I returned to work yesterday and left my little bambino with the neighbors.  This really sucks and hurts my heart all day long.  But it also opens my eyes up to how much I do not like what I do.  Insurance sucks and so does the place I work.  Well its not that bad, I’m a little postpartum melodramatic, but case in point, I really don’t enjoy what I’m doing and where I’m...

D's First Beach Trip
So last weekend we took advantage of having an awesomely free place to stay near Oak Island, NC.  My aunt and uncle live in a super nice golf community where yankees come down to retire and my aunt is an awesome cook/baker.  Oh and Bob makes thebomb.com cosmos.  So between the beach, great food, drinks and relaxing it was an all around great weekend.  Plus lil dude is a good traveler so far, lets...

Davis's One Month Appointment
So lil D had his first real well check up yesterday.  He now weighs 8lbs 15 oz, which means he has gained 1lb and 6oz since birth.  He is 21 3/4 inches long which means he has grown 1 3/4 inches since birth.  His height and weight are both in the 25th percentile and his head is in the 50th percentile.  All looks good and all of my questions were some what answered.  He had to have a...

One Month Old (Warning Baby Spam)
So this has been the fastest month of the year.  It has been filled with burp clothes, dirty diapers, baby cooes, gassy smiles, sleepless nights, and baby lotion snuggles.  I still can’t believe today, a month ago, I brought a person into the world, but I am so happy we created this adventure.  I love the hell out of this snuggle bug and am going to be very sad to leave him everyday in two...

Baby straight jackets
So I don’t have a fancy phone so I can’t post a picture of lil D all swaddled up for bed (which he obviously doesn’t know it’s time for since he is staring at me all wide eyed). But if I could I think you would agree that the Velcro baby swaddle things are really just straight jackets for babies. Yes they are much easier then taking a two day class on how to swaddle your...
